INTRODUCTION ------------ This library can be used to segment Newspaper style text articles into sentences. It uses the Ocaml lexer with a simple set of lexical rules to classify those periods ('.') in the text that end sentences. The simple set of lexical rules implemented achieves a good-enough accuracy. To achieve greater precision, the set of rules may need to be enhanced. For noisier text (those that are not in the newspaper article style), machine learning approaches may work better -- rather than a rule-based approach.
